Students the world over are attending school for a master’s in business in administration – and some for some unexpected reasons, according to Forbes. Minority students are pursuing MBAs at a higher rate than ever before, helping to equalize and diversify the world of business at the national and international levels.

A wide variety of scholarships are available to minority students pursuing an MBA, helping to offset the significant costs of graduate school. Here are five MBA scholarships for minority students.

1. National Black MBA Association Graduate Scholarship

   Providing a range of scholarships for African American students, the National Black MBA Association Graduate Scholarship awards black students merit and need-based awards ranging from one thousand dollars to full tuition costs at select universities. Deadlines vary based on university guidelines and policies for general scholarship funding.

2. The National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development Scholarship

   Explicitly for Indigenous American students with a certificate of tribal enrollment in either the contiguous United States or Alaska, the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development provides scholarship funding to students in their junior or senior years or graduate studies majoring in business or related fields at accredited American universities. Scholarship awards vary.

3. Association of Latino Professionals (ALPFA) Annual Scholarship Program

   The Association of Latino Professionals awards scholarships to students of Hispanic and Latinx descent enrolled in full-time study at accredited American universities and colleges. Applicants must possess a minimum 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale, be enrolling full-time in a business program at the sophomore year of undergraduate study or beyond, and are subject to several other requirements. Scholarship awards range from two thousand to ten thousand dollars.

4. Cathy L. Brock Memorial Scholarship

   A one thousand dollar scholarship awarded to a single recipient each year, the Cathy L. Brock Memorial Scholarship is awarded to students pursuing a master’s degree relating to healthcare management, including MBA students interested in a career in healthcare. Applicants must have a 3.0 grade point average, be native or naturalized US citizens, and demonstrate financial need to be considered.

5. Point Foundation Scholarships

   The Point Foundation Scholarships are for students enrolled in undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral programs that are members of the LGBTQ community. A strong academic record of achievement in addition to proven community involvement and leadership is required to be eligible for the scholarship, as well as full-time enrollment in the student’s scholastic program. Scholarship amounts vary, and consideration is given for amounts on the basis of financial need as well as other factors.
